Project Background
The La Mirada Ave. and Virginia Ave. Pipeline Replacement Project is a water system infrastructure improvement project that will replace 2,850 feet of pipeline along La Mirada and Virginia Ave.
The pipe is over 94 years old and needs to be replaced to improve water system reliability and enhance fire protection in the area.
LADWP crews will replace existing pipe with 6 & 8-inch ductile iron pipes along La Mirada Ave, east of Wilton Pl. and Virginia Ave, east of Van Ness Ave to Western Ave.

Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Construction Schedule
Construction begins end of June 2020 and is scheduled to be completed by December 2020.
Traffic and Access Information
To minimize the impacts to the community, the project will be performed in sections.
Construction will require road closures at each section during work hours. LADWP crews will work in manageable sections that can be covered at the end of each work day to open the road to traffic.
Local access during construction will be provided to residents and delivery personnel. Electronic message boards and traffic control will be in place throughout the project. Fire and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
