To combat periodic droughts and address dramatic swings in climate, we are expanding L.A.’s local and resilient water supply through a major initiative called Pure Water Los Angeles, as well as constructing new facilities to clean up the groundwater basin, improving the capture of stormwater runoff, and increasing the capacity and use of recycled water. We continue to step up incentives to foster our customers' water-saving efforts.

Water Supply Goals
In 2019, Mayor Eric Garcetti issued an update to the LA Sustainable PLAn (L.A.'s Green New Deal) with LADWP and includes targets to increase local water supplies through recycled water, stormwater capture, and water use efficiency.
We’re investing $8 billion in capital improvements over the next several years. Read more about our efforts in the Water Infrastructure Plan (WIP).
