Effective March 7, 2025, LADWP has confirmed TAP WATER IS SAFE to drink in all areas of the Pacific Palisades that were previously under the Do Not Drink Notice issued on January 10, 2025. Customers are encouraged to flush plumbing before use.
Customer’s Guide to Flushing Household Plumbing
Following the confirmations of safe drinking water in areas affected by the Palisades fire, it is recommended that customers with undamaged plumbing flush their plumbing prior to using water for the first time since the Do Not Drink order was lifted.
Important: Due to the severity of the January 2025 wildfires and the likelihood of unseen damage to water service lines, LADWP strongly recommends that customers whose homes were damaged by fire, 50% or more, to replace all plumbing on their side of the water meter as part of the rebuilding process.
For customers without existing plumbing, we are here to support you throughout the process.
Palisades Distribution System Flushing Program
LADWP distribution system flushing in the Pacific Palisades was completed August 2025.

Post-Remediation Compliance Monitoring Plan
LADWP is proud to confirm that drinking water has been fully restored to the Pacific Palisades following the Palisades Fire that impacted several communities. Out of extreme caution and concerns of potential for fire-related contaminants entering the water distribution system, LADWP modified a boil water notice to a Do Not Drink notice on January 10, 2025. With approval from the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water (CA-DDW), we were able to successfully implement a rigorous screening, flushing, and testing plan to ensure your tap water meets safety standards. We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide safe and reliable drinking water to all residents and diligently continue to monitor our water systems as the rebuilding of our communities continues.
