Project Map
Project Description
LADWP will install a new pipe along Pershing Drive, between Imperial Highway and World Way West. This pipe will transport high-quality recycled water from Hyperion Water Treatment Facility to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The pipe will be 3,900 foot long pipe and 12 inches in diameter.
Construction Information
Construction will begin in November 2020 and is scheduled to be completed by March 2021. In order to minimize traffic impact, construction will be in two phases:
- Phase 1 will be at night from 9:00PM to 6:00AM Monday through Friday.
- Phase 2 will be during the day from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
- There may be occasional work on Saturday.
During construction, the northbound lanes on Pershing Drive will be reduced and motorists will be routed onto the shoulder and bike lane. The northbound bike lane will be closed during construction. The southbound bike lane will remain open throughout construction. Excavated areas will be securely covered by steel plates during non-construction times.
The intersection of Pershing Drive and Imperial Highway may require temporary lane closures. Signage and traffic control measures will be in place throughout the project. Fire and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
