The California State Legislature adopted the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in 1970 which requires local and state governments to consider and disclose the possible environmental effects of a project before approval and provides guidelines for that process.
The City of Los Angeles (City), represented by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and the Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment (LASAN), has prepared a Notice of Preparation in accordance with CEQA to notify agencies, interested parties, and members of the public that the City will prepare a Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) pursuant to CEQA for the proposed Pure Water Los Angeles Program (Program or proposed Program).
The public comment for the Notice of Preparation is closed. The next opportunity to provide public comments will be on the Draft PEIR. Check below for the Program CEQA schedule.
