Federal Tax Credits for LADWP Customers

Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency
Home Energy Audits
Start with a home energy audit conducted by an inspector. The maximum credit for home energy audits is $150.
Rooftop Solar and/or Battery Storage
Get up to a 30% tax credit on what you pay for a new solar energy system and/or battery storage system, including labor, permitting and inspection.
Weatherization
Reduce energy used to keep your home cool or heated through weatherization and insulation upgrades. Families can claim up to $1,200 in credit each year for adding insulation or installing efficient windows and doors.
Heat Pumps and/or Heat Pump Water Heaters
Heat pumps are more energy efficient than traditional systems and work in all climates. Households can claim a tax credit for 30% of costs of buying and installing a heat pump and/or heat pump water heater.
Efficient Air Conditioners and/or Heating Equipment
Through the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, get a tax credit of 30% of project cost: up to $600 for central air conditioners, and up to $2000 for heat pumps.
Electric Vehicles
For new vehicles, qualified households can receive a tax credit of up to $7,500. For used electric vehicles, income-qualified households can get up to $4000 tax credit. Effective January 1, 2024, the Clean Vehicle Tax Credits may be available at point of sale.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Qualifying households may be eligible to claim 30% of the cost, up to a $1,000 tax credit on the purchase and installation of an Electric Vehicle Charger.
Electric Panel Upgrades
You may be eligible to claim 30% of the project cost, up to $600 as a tax credit for products purchased and installed to upgrade an electric panel between 2023 and 2032.
