Program History
LADWP’s Adopt-A-School Program has a rich history dating back to the 1980’s when staff from the 1630 North Main Street, now part of the General Construction Group in the Power Construction and Maintenance Division, began collaborating with Ann Street School, located just blocks away. Over the years, our participation has expanded to encompass more than 25 schools throughout Los Angeles and the Owens Valley.
LADWP’s Adopt-A-School program provides funding for a wide range of educational enhancement activities, from STEM education and literacy enrichment to water and power related topics and field trips to local museums.
How to Get Adopted
The Adopt-A-School program accepts new adoptions on a very limited basis, aiming for long-lasting partnerships. Schools looking to join the Adopt-A-School Program can reach out via email to [email protected]. Schools must reside within LADWP's service territory, with consideration given to schools located near a key LADWP facility that extends beyond this boundary.
