As part of our infrastructure improvement program, LADWP is replacing 5,200 feet of pipeline along Benedict Canyon Drive and Liebe Drive. LADWP is also adding four fire hydrants to improve the existing fire protection capabilities in the area.
This project will require the closure of Benedict Canyon Drive between Mulholland Drive and Hutton Drive for a period of seven months. Benedict Canyon Drive and Liebe Drive will be closed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on scheduled Saturdays, from May 2018 to November 2018; Benedict Canyon Drive and Liebe Drive will be open before and after construction hours.
Local access will be available to residents, designated visitors and delivery personnel, and passes will be distributed to residents within the closure for this purpose. In addition, special accommodations will be made if residents of the area need to allow a group of visitors for parties or other gatherings. Fire and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
LADWP Security Officers and traffic control officers will be stationed at access points and throughout the project area to ensure the smoothest flow of traffic possible, and they will be repositioned as needed in the early stages of the work. Electronic message boards will be positioned at the primary access points to inform motorists of current project conditions.
